Relationship series

Relationship #9, 20″x3″x1″, kiln cast, coldworking, 2013

Flowing through each sculptural piece is the shape of a journey… a theme of immigrant survival. From her homeland in Israel she brings the spirit of her ancestors. Poland, Iraq, Israel and America pave a genealogical pathway across continents and oceans dotted with refugee camps, cultural divisions and entrepreneurial survival.
The series entitled “Relationship” followed, each piece containing two independent yet relational structures of transparent strains reflecting light and dark… deeply connected yet separate. The power and relationship between them reflect the power of opposites, such as, above and below, internal and external, past and present, dark and light, old and new, conscious and unconscious, positive and negative.
