Description

In this class you’ll learn the basics of glass fusing art. Over the course of 4 weeks you will go from having no former knowledge to having a grasp over the major concepts of the art form and knowing how to create your very own beautiful colored glass art with fused glass. This class will give you the skills to turn whatever fantastical things you can imagine into beautiful glass art masterpieces.

Classes will be held once per week, every Thursday, for an hour and a half per session, for 4 weeks. During this time, you will learn:

The basics of glass fusion
The process of fusing glass
Basics of glass cutting
Combining different materials to create beautiful glass projects like sun catcher, coasters, picture frames, pendants etc.
Each week, you will learn some new concepts, and then spend the majority of class time creating a project together that puts those concepts into practice. Since the class is limited to 8 people per session, every person is guaranteed to receive individual instruction and attention during each session.

This is a class for beginners therefore; no prior knowledge, skills or experience in any kind of art is required for this class. In fact, during this 2 hour class you will produce a polished masterpiece that will be fired, shaped, and ready to be shown off to your friends & family in no time.

Requirements
There are no requirements to this class. You don’t need to bring any tools or materials with you. All essential materials would be provided by the instructor in the studio.

About Instructor
Ilanit Shalev is the founder of Ilanit Shalev Art Company based in San Diego, California. She’s been learning and practicing the art of glass fusing since 2002.

Since then, she’s taught the glass fusion art to thousands of kids and adults and has worked with some of the most renowned glass artists from around the world. Her work has been awarded and published in the New Glass Review #39, as well as finalist at E-Merge 2018.

Rules & Policies
Due to COVID 19, everyone is required to wear a mask during their entire session and practice social distancing.

Each individual’s temperature would be measured at the beginning of every session.

People are advised not to attend sessions if they are experiencing any symptoms of COVID 19 such as cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or new loss of taste or smell.
