Intermediate: After School Fused Glass Classes

• and we'll make lots of art projects.

Description

Kids will learn the basics of glass fusing art. Over the course of 6 weeks they will go from having no former knowledge to having a grasp over the major concepts of the art form and knowing how to create their very own beautiful colored glass art with fused glass. This class gives kids the skills to turn whatever fantastical things they can imagine into beautiful glass art masterpieces.

Classes will be held once per week, every Tuesday for an hour and a half per session, for 6 weeks.

Each week, kids will learn some new concepts, and then spend the majority of class time creating a project together that puts those concepts into practice. Since the class is limited to 8 kids per session, each kid is guaranteed to receive individual instruction and attention during each session.

This is a class for beginners therefore; no prior knowledge, skills or experience in any kind of art is required for this class. In fact, during this 1.5 hour class kids will produce a polished masterpiece that will be fired, shaped, and ready to be shown off to their friends in no time.

Requirements

The intermediate session requires at least one year of fused glass experience. All essential materials would be provided by the instructor in the studio.

About Instructor

Ilanit Shalev is the founder of Ilanit Shalev Art Company based in San Diego, California. She’s been learning and practicing the art of glass fusing since 2002.

Since then, she’s taught the glass fusion art to thousands of kids and adults and has worked with some of the most renowned glass artists from around the world. Her work has been awarded and published in the New Glass Review #39, as well as finalist at E-Merge 2018.

Rules & Policies

Due to COVID 19, all students are required to wear a mask during their entire session and practice social distancing.

Student temperature would be measured at the beginning of every session.

Students are advised not to attend sessions if they are experiencing any symptoms of COVID 19 such as cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or new loss of taste or smell.
